Cisco’s state of the art facility allows customers to view products before making a purchase Business Challenge
Looking to reconfigure a section of their office into a Customer Briefing Center, Cisco needed a contractor that could perform a design/build job with a quick turn around time. Restricted ceiling heights and the need to distribute air into the display area called for a creative solution on this project. Air Comfort was recommended by the building because we had completed successful design/build projects with them in the past.
The Air Comfort Solution
Working with Jones Lang LaSalle, Executive Construction, Cisco's in-house team, and their architect, HO+K, Air Comfort performed the engineering and design of the new space, which included a display area for customers to view products, conference rooms and a rack display room.
Air Comfort installed a supplemental dry cooler system in the Rack Display room to provide precise cooling and humidification control for the routers. Individual VAV boxes were installed for the Conference Rooms, Briefing Rooms, Multipurpose Room and Demonstration Area. Ceiling height restrictions in the Demonstration Area required a creative solution to distribute and feed air into that space. We determined that the best solution was to install ductwork in a circle around the perimeter of the space and feed it in through the soffit.
The Result
Done in a timeframe that Cisco was looking for, the office reconfiguration provided a viewing area for customers to see products and the capabilities of their equipment firsthand before making a decision to purchase. The area has a system that suits the new space and provides comfortable conditions for customers and employees.
